Madison & Alex at The Gillespie Building

Madison & Alex at The Gillespie Building

Happy winter everybody!  I've got a doozy (sp?) of a wedding from July to warm you up.  (Just because I'm blogging more recently doesn't mean I'm any where CLOSE to caught up... someday.)

Madison and Alex (two huge Kentucky Wildcats) had one of those weddings that you can't erase from your brain if you tried.  Not that you'd want to try.  Because it was amazing.

I've never been to a fraternity party.  But after experiencing firsthand Madison and Alex's wedding reception, I've got a pretty good idea what I missed out on in my younger days.

I'd like to make a few comments before the images.

- Older folks and selfy sticks make me laugh.
- I LOVE the way Alex looked at Madison all day.
- How about all those bridesmaids... you all are awesome!
- Yes... Alex has a twin.  When in doubt, Alex is the one with the white bow tie.
- The mother son dance was insane.  Future grooms take note.
- There may or may not have been flying pizza during the reception.
- This group really knows how to celebrate.  Pom poms, groomsmen convincing bartenders to let them bring trays full of drinks to the dance floor, hoisting people up in the air like Green Day concert... the list goes on.  And so did this wonderful wedding.

Two blog posts in one week?  What's gotten into me?

When Matia and I talked on the phone about her upcoming fourth of July wedding, I knew I had to be involved.  She told me their incredible "we met on a flight when I least expected it" story and what she had planned for her fourth of July wedding at Spindletop Mansion in Lexington.  And how Andrew is in the horse business and how he's got family flying in from all over the world for the wedding.

The wedding did not disappoint.  These two were styling, expressive and incredibly sweet toward one another which made documenting the wedding a sheer joy.  Not to mention two adorable flower girls and a classy getaway car.  (Note: if you want to make your wedding photographer smile, have adorable kids in the wedding and a classic car... among other things of course.)

I love telling people's stories through a collection of photographs.  Here is theirs.

2015 brought so many incredible people and opportunities my way.  I found myself with so many weddings to photograph and relationships to pursue that I decided to give zero time to my blog for a season... until now!

I met Tammy at Brian and Ashley's wedding a few years back and was thrilled when she asked me to shoot her wedding in New York.  I remember meeting Tammy when she was a bridesmaid and still remember how she gave Ashley the sweetest gifts on her wedding day to remind her of her New York roots and their deep friendship.  Sentimental, sweet, expressive and beautiful?  Of course I'll photograph your wedding!

Their wedding was so much fun.  Robert works in the hotel/people industry and is one of those extremely classy individuals that you love being around.  Together, they have a great vibe and a ridiculously adorable bulldog who stole the show.
