Margaret & Brantley at the Brown Hotel

Margaret & Brantley at the Brown Hotel

Margaret is the kind of bride I love to photograph.  She's stunning, styling and has a real inner beauty that everybody sees.  At several points during the day she would ask me about my family and my adoption and even my beliefs.  On her wedding day, she's asking me questions about my family and wanting to make others feel important?  To me, that's real beauty.

And Brantley? I liked him right away... but when he switched into that white dinner jacket for the reception?  Mind blown.

Lauren & Michael at The Olmsted

Lauren & Michael at The Olmsted

Sometimes I feel like Spotify stuck on the repeat.

- So and so's wedding was so much fun.
- How gorgeous is this bride?
- Look at how much they love each other.
- Details... (those monogrammed robes are pretty stellar!)
- That party though.

And you know what?  I'm completely fine with it.  When you have clients as wonderful as Lauren and Michael, you're going to rave about them. Their wedding at the Olmsted was characterized by most of my favorite things in life.  Smiles, hugs, laughter, joy, family, love and friends.  Oh... and some really funky dancing.  Don't believe me?  Take a gander.

I do believe there is one thing that separates this wedding from ALL of the other weddings I've photographed.   I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've blogged a photograph of someone picking someone else's nose.

Katy & Justin at The Henry Clay Building

Katy & Justin at The Henry Clay Building

There were so many things to love about photographing Katy and Justin's wedding last July.

- The tears as Katy read Justin's sweet letter.
- The look on Justin's face as he realized that Katy had gotten him a 23 year old bottle of Pappy.
- The roughly four pounds I lost from the HEAT!
- The kids!  (Just wait, you'll see what I'm talking about.)
- Observing Katy's special relationship with her father.
- Watching those who love Katy get emotional as they watched the father daughter dance.
- Justin and his boys were a riot.
- Getting access to the super intimate, beautiful moment right after Katy and Justin committed to unconditionally love one another for the rest of their lives.  It was amazing!  (See the images that were shot through a crack in the door below.)
- Justin and his boys get their fiddling on toward the end of the night!
