Ashley & Robert at Saxony Farm

Ashley & Robert at Saxony Farm

It doesn't get much better than a farm wedding in Kentucky.  Ashley and Robert's wedding at Saxony Farm in Lexington was no exception.

There were many things that made this wedding exceptional to photograph:

- Sweet little ringbearers in cowboy boots
- Flowergirls dancing in the fields
- Bubbles and cornhole.  (The beautiful boards were made by Robert as a gift to Ashley)
- A fine variety of Kentucky's finest bourbons to taste inside a barn
- Horses perfectly posing for photographs with the ladies
- A Kentucky girl marrying her man surrounded by their closest friends and family

Cati & John at Long Ridge Farm

Cati & John at Long Ridge Farm

So this one was special for so many reasons.  First of all, I absolutely adore horse farm weddings.  So this one at Long Ridge Farm in Shelbyville was a treat by virtue of venue alone. But more than that, I quickly fell for John and Cati and their friends and family.  Cati and John wear there hearts on their sleeves and their wedding was remarkably emotional.  I loved every second.  And I love how they had all of their guests sign their Quaker marriage certificate.  Emily and I did the same thing when we got married almost 11 years ago.  In the most perfect wording, theirs read: "On the tenth of May of the year Two Thousand and Fourteen at the Long Ridge Farm in the City of Shelbville, Kentucky Catherine Louise Webb and Doctor John William Beddies celebrated their love, joined hands in marriage, and promised to be equal and enduring partners in all that they do, for all the rest of their lives.  In solemnization of our vows, we here set our hands.  And we, their friends and family, set our hands in loving support and joyful witness of their union."  How wonderful is that?
